Thunderstorm and heavy rains are expected in isolated places within provincial capital and other parts of Punjab

A dust storm hit the provincial capital and other parts of Punjab, providing citizens with some respite from the summer heat, on Wednesday.
According to the Meteorological Office, a thunderstorm and heavy rains are expected in isolated places within the provincial capital and in other districts of Punjab including Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal. Similarly, the dust storm is expected to hit Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur while extremely hot and dry weather is expected in South Punjab.
Health experts have advised citizens to take precautionary measures such as consuming enough water to avoid dehydration, while also abstaining from hot and sugary beverages.
Further, they also advise individuals consume smaller, cooler temperature meals such as fruits and salads.
Intermittent rains in upper and central Punjab may affect the wheat harvest.
