ISLAMABAD: Islamabad women police stations have been made more operative and effective to ensure protection to females, children and other marginalised segments of society and to check incidents of gender related violence against them. IG Dr Sultan Azam Temuri said this while presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office held to review the affairs of centre established to check violence against women and provide protection to children. DIG Operations Waqar Ahmed Chohan, AIG Operations Asmatullah Junejo, SSP Operations Najeebur Rehman Bugvi, SP Saddar Aamir Niazi, ASP Umer Khan, representatives of doctors, lawyers, journalists, psychologists and other members of the committee also attended the meeting. IG Temuri said the main purpose of this center is to check violence against women and children and ensure protection to them. He sought recommendations from participants of the meeting to make this center more effective.
