Policeman, suspect killed near National Highway
Two constables, Wahadat Mallah and Mumtaz Ali Bhambhro, were on patrol when they identified a suspect

A policeman was shot dead on Sunday near Ranipur. During a raid in the aftermath of the cop's killing, a suspect was also killed in an alleged encounter with the police.
According to the Ranipur police, two constables of the Eagle Squad, Wahadat Mallah and Mumtaz Ali Bhambhro, were on patrol when they identified a suspect near Birohi Market along the National Highway. In order to search him, they signalled the suspect to stop upon which he opened fire at them, killing Bhambhro on the spot.

Following the policeman's killing, another police party reached the site and started searching for the culprit. Eventually, the police reached a hotel where the suspects were hiding. An exchange of fire reportedly took place between the police and suspects for an hour during which an unidentified suspect was killed. The police claimed to have recovered arms from the body.
