Three die after ingesting toxic sweets
Police says Ikram and his family members who were residents of Mohallah Sharif Pura

Five people were hospitalised after consuming toxic sweets on Wednesday. Police said that Ikram and his family members, who were residents of Mohallah Sharif Pura, purchased sweets from a shop located in Gulistan Colony, which turned out to be stale and toxic. As a result, 28-year-old Ikram, four-year-old Arsalan, five-year-old Noor Fatima, three-year-old Ariba and 22-year-old Allah Ditta, fell sick. All the victims were shifted to the local Allied Hospital where Ariba’s condition was stated to be critical. Earlier, three family memebers died after consuming toxic tea in Jahanian, Multan. Rescue officials said that Shahid, Naseem Bibi and Shehnaz Bibi died as a result of consuming the toxic brew, while another member of the family, Asif was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for further treatment.
