LAHORE: Training courses at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on the clinical management of dengue fever have been completed, stated Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Dr Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab on Wednesday.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held to review the current preparations in place to counter dengue.

Comprehensive arrangements have been made this year in order to combat the threat of dengue, he added. All preventative measures, including the reinstatement of dengue counters, cleanliness and sanitation, as well as training has already been extended to the staff, he emphasised.

In the past, LGH has fought on the front lines in the war against dengue. It will maintain its tradition of doing so in the upcoming dengue season as well, he expressed.

He directed administrative doctors to follow the standard operating procedures regarding safety measures against dengue, in order to provide citizens with relief and medical cover from the debilitating disease.

Postgraduate residents and house officers were trained in courses arranged by the Department of Medicine and Paediatrics under the Health Education Programme at the institute.
