Football: Tevez urged to stay at City

Tevez admitts after the Cup final that he may be forced to quit for family reasons.

LONDON:
Manchester City director of football Brian Marwood has told Carlos Tevez he would be crazy to quit Eastlands now that his club have ended their 35-year wait to win a major trophy.

Tevez dropped another hint over the weekend that he will ask to leave City during the close-season despite captaining the club to an FA Cup final victory over Stoke at Wembley.

The forward made a transfer request earlier this season before withdrawing the demand and he admitted after the Cup final that he may be forced to quit for family reasons.

“I just hope Tevez reflects on the fact we are going to be playing Champions League football and thinks ‘this is something I want to be part of’,” said Marwood.
