Cricket: PCB offers contracts to 20 women

Women’s cricket team has shown significant improvement in the last two years.

LAHORE:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered contracts to the country’s 20 leading women players.

The women’s cricket team, which has shown significant improvement in the last two years, has got a huge confidence boost with the central contracts. The women’s team won the Asian Games Twenty20 title in China last year and recently also won a quadrangular event in Sri Lanka featuring the hosts, Ireland and Holland.


“The board has selected five girls for the contracts in each category,” confirmed a board official who also added that payments will be made in the categories of Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000.
