Peace-keeping mission: Pakistani troops depart for Congo

Departing troops will replace the already deployed Pakistan Army contingent in Congo.

LAHORE:
A batch of 250 Pakistani troops left on Sunday morning to perform peace-keeping duties under the aegis of United Nations Mission in Congo.

Acording to a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Brigadier Humayun Zafar bade farewell to the soldiers prior to their departure on a UN chartered aircraft at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.


The departing troops will replace the already deployed Pakistan Army contingent in Congo as part of the relief and rotation schedule. According to the ISPR the Pakistani peace-keepers have been serving in Congo since the past three years.
