Female polio worker injured in knife attack in Quetta

QUETTA: A female polio worker was injured by unknown men in Nawan Killi area of the provincial capital on Monday.

According to police, the victim Shazia was on her way to Nawan Killi to administer anti-polio drops to children under five when unidentified men riding a motorcycle attacked her with knives and fled the scene.

The injured was rushed to the civil hospital for medical aid. Police and law enforcement agencies reached the site and cordoned off the entire area and started efforts to arrest the suspects. Further investigation is under way.
