ISLAMABAD:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has set up a private school regulatory authority to regulate private educational institutions in the province.  A spokesperson for the provincial education department told Radio Pakistan that the Education secretary shall head the authority. The authority will ensure that government policies regarding education are implemented in letter and spirit at private educational institutions. The body will also be able to regulate the fees charged by private educational institutions, especially charging fees for the two months of summer vacation, instead of the court-mandated one month. The body’s objective, the official explained, was to stop the exploitation of parents by owners of private educational institutions.
