Says solid preventive measures being taken to restore peace

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said that the provincial government is taking solid preventive measures to restore law and order across the province, especially in Quetta, as fencing along the Pak-Afghan border is underway, which will halt terrorist movement upon completion.
“Terrorists are killing innocent people for just Rs500, hostile agencies are attempting to disturb multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project by creating anarchy in Pakistan, but the law enforcement agencies and provincial government are keen to restore peace,” said the chief minister while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Sariyab and Joint Road Expansion Project under the umbrella of Quetta Development Project on Sunday.

Minister Education Tahir Mehmood, Provincial Minister Asim Kurd Gelu, Balochistan Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq, Additional Chief Secretary Naseebullah Bazai and other officials accompanied the CM during the event.
Lamenting the federal government for paying less attention to the development schemes in Balochistan, Bizenjo said, “Unfortunately the federal government did not keep its promise made for Quetta’s development.”
He said, “We have allocated up to Rs20 billion for the Quetta Development Project. The road expansion project will be completed in two years and help resolve the burgeoning traffic issues in the provincial capital.”
Quetta will be a safe city, says CM Bizenjo
He said that despite challenges they were going to begin development schemes because the federal government was not paying adequate attention towards development schemes in Balochistan.
On Supreme Court’s decision regarding withdrawal of security protocol allotted to government officials across Pakistan, Bizenjo said, “As Balochistan has been gripped by security challenges for more than a decade, we will approach the court to reverse the decision for Balochistan.”
The chief minister said that solid efforts by LEAs had restored peace in Balochistan.
“Our security forces have arrested 15 to 20 suicide bombers and groups of target killers seeking to target people of Balochistan. We all have to stand united with our security forces to purge the menace of terrorism from our soil.”
Bizenjo orders holding weekly open katcheris
Slamming the protesting doctors, he said, “Despite having a sacred profession, they are not fulfilling their responsibilities. I had paid a surprise visit to hospitals but none of the doctors were present. They are striking for perks and privileges but are not willing to perform their duties. This time they can’t pressure the government by protesting and going on strikes.”
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq said, “The government is concerned about the development of the provincial capital as beautifying and developing the under-developed areas of Quetta is the utmost priority of the incumbent government.”
He said that preference would be given to quality during construction, adding that “we are paying attention to the provision of basic necessities for the inhabitants of the city”.
Project Director Ali Ahmed Mengal briefed the chief secretary on the project.
The chief secretary directed the director to ensure smooth flow of traffic in order to provide relief to the people.
