Samiha Al Aboodi, aged 24, was amongst the last people to talk to Avicii when she spotted him standing at the reception of Muscat Hills Resort hotel. "He was in good spirits and very polite. He was at the reception when I stopped to ask if it was really him," she said.

Adding that it could have been just hours before his death, Samiha quoted, "My only regret is that I could not take a selfie with him because my mobile phone battery had just run out of charge."
Another fan, Preetam Goshi, who works at the hotel, also met Avicii a day before he passed away. He recalled, "I didn't recognise him at first. He looked different until my colleague told me who it was Avicii. He was a cool gentleman and full of life. I still don't believe that he's gone."
Preetam added that the late DJ also asked him about the best places to visit in Oman apart from Muscat. "I gave him all the information he needed. It's a pity he could not make it," he shared.

Avicii's publicist, Diana Baron confirmed his death on Friday - April 20 - but did not reveal the cause. Omani police has denied comments as well as the family has requested them not to give details.
However, an insider informed that there was no suspicion of criminal activity. "Two autopsies were carried out, one yesterday and one today, and we absolutely confirm that there is no criminal suspicion in the death," said the source.
Muscat Hills Resort also refrained from providing details of Avicii's death but stated that he was an "extremely kind" guest.

Avicii was among the first DJs to break through in the mainstream as electronic dance music grew over the past decade. After producing various hits such as Wake Me Up, Levels and many others, the DJ retired from touring due to health concerns. He passed away at the age of 28 in Oman on April 20.
