Adding that it could have been just hours before his death, Samiha quoted, "My only regret is that I could not take a selfie with him because my mobile phone battery had just run out of charge."

Another fan, Preetam Goshi, who works at the hotel, also met Avicii a day before he passed away. He recalled, "I didn't recognise him at first. He looked different until my colleague told me who it was Avicii. He was a cool gentleman and full of life. I still don't believe that he's gone."

Preetam added that the late DJ also asked him about the best places to visit in Oman apart from Muscat. "I gave him all the information he needed. It's a pity he could not make it," he shared.

Avicii was among the first DJs to break through in the mainstream as electronic dance music grew over the past decade. After producing various hits such as Wake Me Up, Levels and many others, the DJ retired from touring due to health concerns. He passed away at the age of 28 in Oman on April 20.
