Two killed, five injured as rain plays havoc in AJK

Both the rivers of Jehlum and Neelum are flowing up to the brim

At least two children have died and five other persons wounded in a rain-related incident in Neelum district of AJK on Friday.

The torrential rain and snowfall at upper reaches of Kashmir have also disrupted the road communication system as many major and link roads blocked at different points due to land sliding.

According to details, a vehicle with seven tourists on board hit by a boulder at Noseri, some 30 kilometres from capital Muzaffarabad, killing two children on the spot and wounding five others.

It is stated tourists belonging to a family and residents of Sammanabad Lahore were going to Neelum Valley for sightseeing.


Five of a family among seven killed in AJK accidents

Those who died were identified as Adeel son of Amir and Irtaza son of Umer. The injured are Amir, Rabia, Sifat, Anusha and Muneeb. The injured were immediately transported to CMH Muzaffarabad.

The rain which was started on Monday remained continued on fifth consecutive day pushing the mercury considerably in most part of Azad Kashmir.

Both the rivers of Jehlum and Neelum are flowing up to the brim while mountains of Lipa, Shamsabari and Peer Hansimaar have covered with fresh snow.
