PESHAWAR:
US national Aaron Mark DeHaven has finally left Pakistan after having earlier been barred by immigration staff at the Peshawar International Airport from being deported due to incomplete documentation.
According to sources familiar with the matter, DeHaven left Peshawar on a PIA flight that departed for Dubai at 11 pm, on his way to his native state of Virginia.
DeHaven was arrested in February for staying in Pakistan on an expired visa. A local court later released him on bail. His counsel Sardar Ali Raza said his client had been issued a stay order by the Peshawar High Court against his deportation. However, the interior ministry recently issued a letter to him directing him to leave the country before May 13.
