New Campus: PU book fair concludes
Speakers underline the need for research in the modern world.
LAHORE:
PPP Secretary General Jahangir Badar, former finance minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, poet Amjad Islam Amjad and columnist Dr Ajmal Niazi recalled their student years at Punjab University on the last day of the three-day PU Book Fair 2011 at New Campus on Saturday.
In their brief speeches Amjad, Niazi and Kaira underlined the need for research in the modern world and urged the students to pursue their studies with dedication in order to succeed in life. Badr recalled that he began his career in politics at the university. He hoped that the fair would encourage students to pursue knowledge and education.
Many families visited the fair on Family Day and admired the efforts of the students and faculty in arranging the event. A delegation of education reporters also visited the book fair and were received by Vice Chancellor Prof Mujahid Kamran.
