Fire: Factory owner faces loss of Rs8m in accident

Fire broke out in the paper-cone sector of the industrial unit due to a short circuit.

FAISALABAD:
Machinery and raw material worth Rs800,000 was destroyed when a fire engulfed a factory on Saturday. A fire broke out in the Razaabad industrial unit on Saturday and reduced factory materials to ashes.

Police claimed that fire broke out in the paper-cone sector of the industrial unit due to a short circuit which engulfed the entire factory within an hour. Fire brigade and Rescue 1122 officials rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire after four hours. Rescue officer Shoji Ahmed said that the roof of the factory collapsed and the industrial unit was decimated. The factory owner said that they were grateful no lives were lost.
