ISLAMABAD:
Police have arrested a staffer of a five-star hotel who had allegedly molested a teenage boy inside the hotel’s washroom.

Officers said that the 13-year-old boy*, visiting the Serena Hotel along with his family to have dinner at one of its restaurants on April 14, had gone to the washroom.

There, he was allegedly molested by a 24-year-old staffer. The family later told the police that the staffer had allegedly restrained the boy and repeatedly touched his private parts.

When the boy made a noise, the staffer reportedly fled the spot.

The family took the matter up with the hotel management. They then called the police who registered a case of sexual abuse case against the staffer. By this time, the staffer had gone into hiding. However, the hotel’s management traced him and turned him over to Secretariat police the next day, April 15.

During questioning, the suspect claimed that since the boy could not figure how to operate the automatic faucet, he had helped him with it. He further claimed that the boy’s qameez was tucked in his shalwar and that he just pulled it out. But in doing so, he inadvertently touched the boy’s private parts. The boy, though, alleged that the suspect had molested him five times.

The suspect was produced before a magistrate on Monday and was sent to jail on judicial remand.
