SARGODHA: The agriculture department’s kitchen gardening project is successfully being carried out in the district, said a spokesperson on Sunday.

Summer vegetable seed packets are being provided to the people. These packets contain varieties of all major seasonal vegetables which can be grown in pots, he stated. The objective behind promoting kitchen gardening is to enable people to cultivate fresh vegetables grown without the use of poisonous sprays and insecticides.

He urged the community to benefit from the seed packets being provided by the government.

In the first phase, thousands of seed kits were provided to people for Rs50 per packet, he disclosed.
