Envoy seeks proposals to attract Chinese investors
'Pakistan was the major producer of raw cotton, sugar and wheat as well as many other commodities'
FAISALABAD:
The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) should present mutually workable, profitable and durable business proposals in an attempt to attract maximum Chinese investors, suggested Dr Naeem Khan, Pakistan’s Consul General in Shanghai, China.
Talking to FCCI President Shabbir Hussain Chawla who was on a visit to Shanghai, Khan said viable proposals would help him contact serious investors in addition to convincing them to make maximum investment in collaboration with Pakistani industrialists in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) being established under the Belt and Road Initiative.
He emphasised that he could also arrange a visit of Chinese investors to enable them to see the opportunities available in the SEZs and discuss possible collaboration with their Pakistani counterparts.
The FCCI president said Pakistan was the major producer of raw cotton, sugar and wheat as well as many other commodities. Most of these are exported in raw or semi-finished condition and the country could earn billions of dollars through value addition.
