LAHORE: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) President Pir Pagara has invited all political parties and leaders to join his alliance.
On Wednesday, Pir Pagara called upon Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at their residence and in a joint news conference urged ‘parties to contest upcoming general election with one symbol and from one platform.’
He alleged that incumbent government had rigged the 2013 general election and that his party registered its protest. He said if similar faces were selected for upcoming set-up the situation will not be much different.
The Pakistan Muslim League Functional president said “the 2013 elections were fixed and due to their dominance in particular area provinces were divided.”
Pir Pagara said he does not want to lead but requests Chaudhry Shujaat to gather all political parties on a single platform. ‘It is necessary for all political parties to team up for betterment of the country.’
Chaudhry Shujaat highlighted old relations with the Pagara family and said “During Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi’s arrest, his family always received positive advice and well wishes from the Pagara family.”
He also underscored that it is necessary to gather all political parties on one platform for strengthening the country.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the party that always hatched conspiracies against Pakistan Army and judiciary, has ruled the country for the past 25 years but it failed to deliver, he added.
He said the GDA has been activated at national level. Upcoming general elections will be contested on one election symbol.
He urged people of Pakistan to give their vote to those who had served the nation in the past.
Pir Pagara underlined that all political parties failed to control terrorism but armed forces of Pakistan rooted out terrorism with their sacrifices. “The credit of reining in terrorism goes to Pakistan Army otherwise politician always tried to protect criminals,” he added.
