‘Strict action against those involved’
Khawaja Salman Rafique orders that inter-departmental action be initiated against those involved in recent shortage

Provincial Minister for Specialised Health and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique ordered that inter-departmental action be initiated against those involved in the recent shortage of medication at Nishtar Hospital. He expressed annoyance over the situation while chairing a Nishtar Medical University (NMU) syndicate meeting on Wednesday. Former NMU Principal Dr Samee Akhtar presented a report that was prepared after an inquiry was launched into the matter. Rafique issued orders that those found responsible be dealt with strictly and sternly. The syndicate also approved that MNU’s administrative affairs be run according to the rules in place at Lahore’s Fatima Jinnah Medical University. It also authorised the recruitment of new faculty to improve the standard of education at NMU. The syndicate also approved faculty and staffer posts during the meeting.
