Aptma has suggested to the government to introduce a 10 per cent levy on all large buyers of electricity.
KARACHI:
All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) has suggested to the government to introduce a 10 per cent levy on all large buyers of electricity in the coming budget to mobilise $1.5 to $2 billion per annum for three years to generate 2000 megawatts of cheaper electricity every year.
Aptma Chairman, while addressing a press conference on Aptma’s tax proposals here on Friday, said that every power purchaser with more than 1000 units per month should be charged with this levy.
“The annual energy sale is Rs1.5 trillion in the country and 10 per cent would be around $1.5 to $2 billion per annum,” he added.
