KARACHI: Troops have been deployed at seven- to 10-yard intervals outside the main military establishment on Sharae Faisal.

The security has been increased in the aftermath of the attacks outside the Frontier Constabulary Qila in the Shabqadar tehsil of Charsadda near Peshawar that left at least 80 people dead on Friday.

The road from the Mehran Hotel intersection to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre intersection is strewn with troops while armed, double-cabin pickups rove up and down the street.

The jawan are so vigilant that even the pedestrians have been asked to move out and not to loiter.
