CM focuses on uninterrupted power

CM says, cheap supply of electricity to the people is the basis of national development

A high-level delegation of General Electric, led by its Chief Executive Officer and President Russel Stokes, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari was also present on the occasion. Talking to the delegation, the CM said that cheap and uninterrupted supply of electricity to the people is the basis of national development. He added the government was fully committed to providing economic and uninterrupted supply of electricity to improve the quality of life of the people. He said resources worth Rs150 billion have been saved in gas-based projects by ensuring transparency. He stated the same transparency in power generation projects has also being acknowledged on a global level. “The electricity projects have been completed speedily by the incumbent government,” he added. Russel Stokes said that cooperation with the government will continue in future, adding they will come up to expectations. “The government’s tremendous cooperation in setting up the power plants is praiseworthy,” he concluded.
