ZAB’s 39th death anniversary observed

PPP leaders and activists laud the services of party’s founding chairman

MULTAN: The 39th death anniversary of the founding chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was observed on Wednesday across South Punjab and other parts of the country.

Former premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani attended the function of the People's Lawyers Forum held at the District Bar where he was warmly welcomed by senior lawyers. He paid rich tributes to Bhutto for making the country a nuclear power, bringing back 90,000 soldiers from Indian captivity and strengthening the country economically.

Speaking on the occasion, Gilani said it was a judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who was martyred on the whims of a dictator.

District Bar President Malik Mehboob Ali Sandila, Mirza Aziz Akbar Baig, Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani, Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Begum Bushra Naqvi and other members of the bar were present on the occasion. A large number of PPP workers and office bearers left for Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to join the central ceremony.

PPP Central Punjab and Lahore chapters observed the 39th death anniversary of former prime minister and founder of PPP Zulfikar Ali Bhutto with enthusiasm on Wednesday. Quran Khwani was organised at the PPP Central Punjab Secretariat, Model Town and participants paid rich tributes to Bhutto. PPP Ulema Wing President Maulana Yousuf Awan prayed for ZAB while Abid Siddiqui, Lubna Chaudhry and Tahir Ghalib were also present besides a large number of PPP activists.
