SRK, Kareena Kapoor to reportedly reunite for a biopic
The biopic will be based on the first Indian man to travel into space
The crème de la crème of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are, reportedly, coming together on the silver screen for a biopic. This will be the duo's first film together after Ra One, which was released in 2011.
According to Filmfare, a confirmation is awaited. However, the biopic will be based on Rakesh Sharma, who was the first Indian man to travel into space.
Titled Salute, the film will be directed by Mahesh Mathai and is set to go on floors in September 2018. Sources reveal that SRK will finish filming for Aanand L Rai's Zero before starting Salute.
Earlier, there were reports that Aamir Khan will be taking the lead in the film. However, he opted out due to "creative differences" with the film's crew.
Sharma started his career in the Indian Air Force. In 1982, he was selected to go into space as part of a research program and spent about seven days in space before returning back to Earth.
