Petition On Abbottabad Incident: Federal govt put on pre-admission notice
The Sindh High Court issued pre-admission notices to the federal government.
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court issued pre-admission notices to the federal government in a petition challenging the Abbottabad operation by US Navy SEALs who killed al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. Chief Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi had earlier heard petitioner Haji Gul Ahmed, a self-styled ameer (chief) of an Islamic Organisation for Social Reform. Ahmed had named the federal interior ministry, Joint Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Army Staff, DG ISI, DG MI, chairman of the Senate and Speaker of the National Assembly as respondents. He prayed the court to order the removal of the persons/authorities responsible for inaction, order a full scale investigation into the presence of US intelligence operatives.
