Police grill 30 suspects in Faisalabad university student rape, murder case
Law enforcers nab suspected people using data from the victim's cellphone

At least 30 suspects have been investigated in connection with the rape and murder of a university student in Faisalabad.
A*, a student of MA in English at the Government College University in Faisalabad, was last seen alive when she left home for university on March 25. When the 25-year-old was a gold-medalist did not return from the university, the family had lodged an FIR with the Gulberg Police station. However the police failed to find any clue regarding her alleged kidnapping.
Three days later, her body was recovered from a stream. The autopsy report showed torture marks on the body.
According to CPO Faisalabad Athar Isamaeel, samples from the deceased’s body were sent to the Lahore Forensic Laboratory while the SHO Gulberg police station had been suspended for inaction in the case.
The CPO said that the suspects were nabbed with the help of data recovered from the victim’s mobile phone.
