National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasser Khan Janjua on Thursday ephasised the need to realise the gravity of cyber-security threats, Radio Pakistan reported.


Speaking at a conference organised by the Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA) in Islamabad, Janjua said taking concrete steps to overcome cyber security challenges was the need of the hour.  He said pertinent agencies needed to inspect cyber space to secure communications, financial and conventional set-ups from attacks.

He called upon experts to help the government secure cyber space. Malaysia Cyber Security CEO Aminuddin Abdul Wahab also spoke at the event. He said a number of measures had been taken by Malaysia to overcome cyber security challenges. Among these, he said, were the introduction of eight laws and partnerships with local universities.  PISA president Ammar Jaffery  said the nation's future was inextricably linked to overcoming cyber security threats.
