A woman demanded a band new luxury car as her dowry in Saudi Arabia which led her fiancee to break off their engagement, reported KhaleejTimes.

Father of the girl said that he would allow his daughter to demand whatever dowry she wants.

However, the young man said that he had asked for the hand of the university student living in Jazan.

Dowry: a unique form of gender-based violence

The man agreed to the terms but he was surprised with the request of Lexus car as the dowry after all the arrangements were made and the marriage ceremony was about to take place.

The man allegedly said that he had no issues with her as a person but her demands before marriage were worrying, saying those after marriage might be far worse.
