8 killed, 713 injured in road crashes

As many as 453 victims who sustained minor injuries were discharged on the spot

LAHORE: At least 1,026 road crash incidents were reported at monitoring cell of the Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 in all 37 districts of the province during the last 24 hours. In all, eight people lost their lives, while 713 suffered injuries.

As many as 453 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by rescue teams.

Rescue 1122 data revealed that 461 drivers, 23 underage drivers, 155 pedestrians and 558 passengers were among the victims of road crashes.

The statistics disclosed that 244 RTCs were reported in Lahore in which 241 people were affected. Similarly, 115 people were affected in Faisalabad and 130 victims in Multan.

The details showed that 1,174 victims were affected in road traffic crashes in the province, including 940 males and 234 females. The data stated that 203 victims were under 18 years of age, 645 were between 18 and 40 years and the rest of the 326 victims were reported as above 40 years of age.
