LAHORE: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) decided to conduct a ‘full scale airport emergency exercise’ at Allama Iqbal International Airport.

The decision was made during a meeting held at Allama Iqbal International Airport and was chaired by PCAA Manager Tahir Sikander.

During the meeting, it was agreed upon that a full scale emergency exercise will be carried out on March 28 as per International Civil Aviation Organisation standards. The aim of the exercise is to test the response of all internal and external participating agencies and to establish rapport between the agencies functioning at different level to deal with emergency situations, said a spokesperson for PCAA.

A single aircraft will be used for the exercise to simulate a fire emergency. After receiving an emergency signal, the PCAA fire brigade and Pakistan Air Force will respond to the call and extinguish the fire, the spokesperson revealed.
