Many cases forcibly suppressed by special departmental committee despite objections from audit, PTI supremo says
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan on Monday slammed Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif over 'corruption' in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Project.
Sharing 'evidence' on Twitter, Khan said many cases were "forcibly suppressed by special departmental committee despite objections from audit." "Any project that the Punjab government takes up is doused in corruption," Imran went on to add.

The PTI claimed on Sunday that over Rs7.5 billion had been embezzled in the metro bus project and procurement of medicines for public health facilities. He said payments to the tune of Rs1.5 billion had been made in connection with the initiative. He said a report by the auditor general of Pakistan highlighted that over Rs500 million irregularities were found in the procurement of concrete works and the payment went 40% above the agreed amount.
