CDA finalises arrangements for plot auction
Puts prime land in Blue Area up for grabs

Having delayed it for Pakistan Day celebrations, the civic authority has finalised arrangements to auction commercial plots in the capital.
The three-day auction by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), scheduled to be held from March 27 to 29 at the Jinnah Convention Centre, will see 42 plots being sold off in prime sectors of the city, including the upscale Blue Area.
To ensure transparency in the auction proceedings, CDA Chairman Usman Akhtar Bajwa has set up an 11 member, high-level committee.
The committee will be headed by CDA Member Finance Dr Fahad Haroon Aziz and would include Member Planning and Design Asad Mehboob Kiyani, Member Estate Khushal Khan, estate deputy director general, law deputy director general, deputy financial advisor-II, public relations director, regional planning director, urban planning director, estate management-II director and finance deputy director.
To finalise arrangements for the auction, the auction committee met at CDA Headquarters.
The committee was told that during the auction, two commercial plots in Blue Area will be auctioned. These plots, they said, will be for the construction of high-rise buildings.
Moreover, 22 plots for class-III shopping centres will be put under the hammer.
Of these shopping centres, two will be located in Sector F-6, one in Sector F-8, two in Sector F-10, two in Sector F-11, one in Sector G-10, three in sector G-11, four in Sector D-12, one in Sector I-8, two in Sector I-11, one class-III shopping centre in Shahzad Town and three in Sector I-14.
Similarly, seven commercial plots located in different commercial areas will be sold including two plots in Sector D-12 Markaz, two in Sector I-8 Markaz and three commercial plots in the Diplomatic Enclave would be also presented for auction.
A further three plots, for construction of apartments, will be sold. These plots are located in Sector F-10 Markaz, Sector G-11/1 and G-11/3.
Similarly, a plot for building a hospital will be auctioned. This plot is located in Sector G-11 Markaz.
Another plot for building a hotel will be sold in Sector G-11 Markaz. A plot for building a filling station will be sold in Blue Area (Sector F-7), while land for another fuel station will be sold in the mauve area of Sector G-8/1.
Moreover, four commercial plots will be sold. Of these, one would be in Sector H-8/2, one in Sector H-11/4, and two commercial plots in Margalla Town Phase-II.
