Heist: Gang of 7 robs bank and flees
Band of robbers steal Rs4.2million from the Habib Bank Limited.
RAHIM YAR KHAN:
A band of robbers stole Rs4.2million from the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Adda Gulmarg branch on Monday.
According to police officials, the bank branch manager said that seven armed young men came to the bank in a car. Six of the men stormed into the bank while the seventh remained in the car.
The robbers held the bank staff and other people hostage and snatched weapons from the bank’s guard and a policeman. Police officials arrived at the scene and the robbers also beat up the guard, the assistant superintendent (ASI) and a police van driver standing outside the bank.
The police chased after the robbers but they managed to escape.
