Jattak claims PPP will form next provincial govt
Urges party leaders, workers to gear up for elections
QUETTA:
Pakistan Peoples Party Provincial President Ali Madad Jattak has said that in the next Balochistan elections PPP will form the government and the chief minister will also be a jiyala.
“Party leaders and workers should gear up for elections,” said Jattak while addressing a gathering of PPP leaders, workers and tribal elders on Saturday.

“Without democracy the country cannot progress,” he said.
The PPP provincial president said, “Clashing with institutions will be a dangerous act. The political parties that criticise institutions to save their own skin can never work for the welfare of the people and the development of the country.”
“The parties that came to power and did nothing for the welfare of people are responsible for Balochistan’s backwardness,” he said, adding that when they joined the opposition they started remembering the people, “but the people will not be fooled any more”.

Jattak said that when PPP was in power it worked to strengthen the democratic system and even now it was busy struggling for it. “The people, who are fooling the people by claiming to be the sole supporters of democracy, are not fighting to uphold democracy, but are fighting a battle for survival,” he added.
He said that Balochistan’s development and the welfare of its people depended on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and “the CPEC will bring development in the province and benefit the people”.
He said that in the past, the PPP had launched the Balochistan package to end backwardness in the province. “Ten thousand youth were provided job opportunities. If provided the opportunity, we will end the backwardness of Balochistan,” he added.

“The people, whom the Supreme Court disqualified in the Panama Papers case and for corruption, are not fighting for the survival of democracy but for their own survival,” Jattak said. “They are holding rallies and conferences in a bid to entice the people to clash with institutions, but now the people and political parties are well aware of their tactics and won’t be fooled by them.”
Jattak further said, “Just like they tasted defeat in the Senate elections, we will defeat them in the general elections with the power of the people.”
