Polio eradication: ‘Routine immunisation rate is only 69%

Sindh Health Minister requests that education department officials assist the government in the next campaign.

KARACHI: The present rate of routine immunisation is 69 per cent even after nearly 120 rounds of anti-polio campaigns, said Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed on Wednesday.

He met a seven-member delegation of Unicef and WHO representatives to discuss how to increase the rate in order to eradicate polio. He requested that education department officials assist the government in the next campaign, which will start on June 13.
