Khursheed Shah accuses PML-N, PTI of defaming politics
Says perhaps Imran’s billion trees are planted in the skies instead of the earth
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said on Tuesday the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were giving politicians a bad name by using derogatory language and hurling baseless allegations at opponents.
Speaking to reporters in Sukkur, Shah said the political manifesto of the two parties was to defame, insult and disrespect others, Express News reported.
Terming the 'billion tree tsunami' project by the PTI government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa a fraud with the masses, he said, “We made a world record of planting trees in Sindh, the team of Guinness Book of World records came to Pakistan, verified and then awarded the record to us.”
PPP contacts PTI to discuss interim set up
Shah said, “Perhaps Imran’s trees are planted in the skies instead of the earth… I wonder why the Guinness team didn’t notice the one billion trees.”
Answering a question pertaining to Chaudhry Nisar’s comment on former premier Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader said, “If you’ve spent even a single day with a leader, you should not speak this way about them. Nisar even served the country under Nawaz… there is a certain amount of respect that you need to give to others.”
Shah further slammed PTI chief Imran Khan on the issue of Senate opposition seat, saying, “PTI’s claim over the opposition seat in Senate is undemocratic. We’re trying our best to ensure that the issue of the caretaker prime minister is taken up in the parliament.”
“Instead of announcing candidates at public rallies, political leaders and parties need to send in their recommendations to me. The prime minister will also send in candidates to me. The caretaker PM will be decided before May 30,” Shah stated.
