‘Fair, free polls necessary for brighter future of country’
PTI’s leader says his party will defeat the ruling elite in upcoming general elections
LAHORE:
Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee member Senator Chaudhry Sarwar has said free and fair election was demand of entire nation and necessary for the brighter future of the country.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with spring festival on Sunday, Sarwar said it was very unfortunate that people who were doing politics for sake of money were talking about the sanctity of vote. “This time Pakistan nation will not fall into their trap. The upcoming general election will end the menace of corruption in politics,” he remarked.
“PTI will defeat the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other political rivals in general elections 2018. It will compete the ruling party on all fronts in upcoming elections.”
Sarwar underscored that corruption has done more damage to the country than any other thing. “Politics of looting and plundering has sunk PML-N’s boat of politics,” the PTI leader said.
“The PTI is fighting for the rights of the poor and marginalised communities. Without establishing rule of law, free and fair accountability in the country, Pakistan cannot move ahead.
PTI chief has provided political consciousness to the masses and after winning 2018 general elections he will become next prime minister of Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, PTI Central Punjab President Abdul Aleem Khan said his party has strong reservations over new delimitation.
He termed the new delimitation as conspiracy against the PTI as most constituencies where his party had stronghold had been reshuffled. Aleem underlined that his party would not provide an open field to the ruling party but would raise their concerns with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
“PTI chief will address workers in Gujranwala on March 21. He will also visit membership camps in the area and meet the party activists. On March 30-31, he will visit membership camps in Lahore and address the party workers. PTI Lahore chapter has already started arrangements for a big public gathering in Lahore,” he said while elaborating the plan of his party chief.
Meanwhile, PTI’s women wing executive council member Musarrat Jamshaed Cheema said women workers conventions and party chairman’s participation would go a long way toward accelerating party membership drive launched in almost all parts of the country.
Speaking to a select group of journalists, she lauded the services of senior party leader Munaza Hassan in organising women convention in Lahore and provided an opportunity to party’s women workers to share their thoughts with senior leadership of the party.
She underscored that high participation of women workers in the convention had proved that the PTI was the only political party that honours and respects its women workers. She underlined that women would play their role in making membership drive a huge success in line with instructions laid down by party.
