KARACHI:
The PIB group and Bahadurabad group of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan failed to gather large crowds for their separate gatherings on the 34th foundation day of the party despite using heavy resources. However, the two groups made huge claims. It was the first of its kind ‘Youm-e-Tasees’ which was celebrated at two different places.

The PIB group held the rally at Liaquatabad flyover while its opponent Bahadurabad group chose Nishtar Park for their effort to show their strength. Both the groups had called support from their supporters in Karachi and all over other parts of Sindh. The gatherings of both the groups were a kind of face saving efforts.

However, the failure of both the groups to celebrate the politically significant gathering at one place, showed a kind of agreement on the number of chairs they used. There were empty chairs in the PIB group’s gathering, which had a total of 3,600 chairs that were less than their gathering on the same place a few months back. Moreover, the workers were also not so enthusiastic, which was something new in the MQM meetings. People started leaving the venue even before Dr Farooq Sattar had completed his speech while those sitting in the gathering were talking among themselves.

On the contrary, Bahadurabad group also arranged the same number of chairs for their foundation day celebrations in Nishtar Park. A lot of these chairs remained empty and people started to leave during the speeches of the central leaders.

Kamran Taisuri said he was ready to leave if his sacrifice could save the party from disaster and would go to Bahadurabad to seek an apology, if it works. He said he is agreeable to go to Bahadurabad to seek apology, if it works. He was going to leave the stage after announcing his resignation but other leaders did not let him go. Dr Farooq Sattar asked the workers if the resignation of Kamran Taisuri be accepted, which the the workers rejected.

On the contrary, Dr Farooq Sattar said he will not let the party divide and will not let the conspiracy of Haqiqi-2 succeed. He added that he will accept the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision, which is on March 26 and will not look back after the decision.

Dr Sattar said that he has started the election campaign with the foundation day gathering and added that the party will commence the organizational campaign from April 2.  Kamran Taisuri, Abdul Waseem, Khawja Suhail Mansoor, Shahid Pasha, Senator Nighat Hina Mirza, Waseem Hussain, Syed Waqar Hussain Shah, Yousaf Sehwani and Manuhar Lal also addressed the gathering.
