Sanjrani hopes for future Senate chairpersons from all provinces
Says independently elected senators are truly representing the struggle for betterment of Balochistan
QUETTA:
Senate Chairman Mir Sadiq Sanjrani has said that they are looking forward to passing laws in the upper house which ensure that Senate chairpersons could come from all provinces including the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in the future.
“Independently elected senators have played a vital role in electing a chairman senate from Balochistan, which has never been done by any political party in the past," he said while addressing the media and tribal elders in Quetta, and added that meetings with Asif Ali Zardari were just for exchanging views on the opposition leader, otherwise there is no chance of him joining the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Sanjrani invites Baloch separatists to enter national mainstream
The chairman said that now they are not just a group, but a political party with 32 MPAs and 6 senators who are going to contest elections together in the future to eliminate the sense of deprivation in Balochistan. He asked for a united struggle to eradicate the sense of deprivation in Balochistan and said, “The time has come to work together for the nation.”
“PTI and PPP supported us in this cause, for which we are thankful. We have proved that independently-elected senators are truly representing the struggle for the betterment of Balochistan,” said Sanjrani.
