Bulletproof Car Case: IHC issues notice to IGP
Petitioner pleas that on March 10 IHC dismissed a plea for retaining of bulletproof car by the former CJP

The Islamabad High Court on Thursday issued notices to the interior, cabinet, law and justice secretaries and Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad in a contempt of court proceeding in connection with the bulletproof car presently in the use of ex- CJP Iftikahr Chaudhry. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the IHC issued the notice in the petition filed by Advocate Riaz Hanif Rahi against the provision of the government maintained bulletproof car to Justice (retd) Iftikhar Chaudhry. The petitioner pleaded that on March 10 the IHC dismissed a plea for retaining of bulletproof car by the former CJP, declaring a retired Supreme Court judge could only avail the facilities that were enumerated in the Supreme Court Judges Leave, Pension and Privileges Order, 1997.
