International Mathematics contest held
First time that students from government school had the opportunity to participate in a globally acclaimed competition
LODHRAN:
At least 188 students from 20 government schools of Lodhran District participated in the International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest (IKMC) held at Amina Government Girls Higher Secondary School on Friday. This was the first time that students, in particular those from government schools, had the opportunity to participate in a globally acclaimed competition.
Last year, only two government schools out of 900 schools in Pakistan participated in the contest.
Tareen Education Foundation (TEF), a local based non-profit organisation, is credited for conceiving the initiative, an effort towards improving the quality of education in government schools.
