Teams compete at SKZMDC’s arts festival

Students took part in painting, live sketching and other contests

LAHORE: The arts society of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Medical and Dental College (SKZMDC) Lahore hosted an intercollegiate event, the “SKZMDC ARTS FEST '18” under the supervision of Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex Chairperson Prof Farid Ahmad on Friday.

At least 10 teams from the most prestigious colleges of the country, including Allama Iqbal Medical College, Ameeruddin Medical College, CMH Medical College, Akhtar Saeed Medical College, Rehbar Medical and Dental College, Lahore Medical and Dental College, Lahore College for Women University, Nawaz Sharif Medical College Gujrat, Fatima Memorial Medical College and University of Lahore competed for the title of champions of the arts festival.

The arts festival was a team-based contest where the participants competed with each other in a multitude of fine arts activities, performing arts and fun games i.e. photo exhibition, painting exhibition, tug of war, live sketching etc.

Each segment holds points in a grand scoring system, so a total of 18 different categories contributing to the score sheet ensured a tough and engaging competition among the teams. Besides, a food court section was also arranged consisting of many booths where students sold their home-made food items.

The team of CMH Medical College got highest score and was awarded the Arts Fest Champions Trophy.

Prof Dr Farid Ahmad Khan appreciated the efforts of the organisers for holding the arts festival and said that such events provide a platform to the students to show their creative skills.

More than 500 students participated in the festival from different colleges of Pakistan.
