The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) on Wednesday carried out an operation against public service vehicles overcharging commuters and violating regulations.
The LTC challaned 89 public services vehicles, including buses, coasters, rickshaws and motorcycle rickshaws on various violations like unavailability of fitness certificate and route permit, usage of illegal LPG cylinders and overcharging passengers. The company also impounded three vehicles from Gulberg area.
The company had set up a special check point on Wahdat Road near Muslim Town on the orders of LTC Enforcement Deputy General Manager Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed.
A spokesperson of the company said that officials of the enforcement wing conduct such operations at regular intervals to ensure safe and hassle-free travel for commuters in the city.
