A German woman has been sentenced to jail for three months as she was tampering with a paid parking ticket in Dubai.

According to Khaleej Times, the Court of First Instance charged 25-year-old woman was indicted after the public trial endorsed strictest penalty for her.

The incident took place on June 16, 2016 and was reported to Al Qusais Police station.

Inspector with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) told the prosecutor: "I was on duty inspecting the cars in the paid parked areas in Al Nahda, Al Qusais. I spotted a car with a ticket on which the month had been changed by hand writing. The fare paid and the parking time did not match."

He also said, "It looked obvious that the ticket was issued on May 16 but the car owner changed the date on the ticket to June 16 and left it on the front of the car. I reported the matter to my superior and then to the police."

The offender confessed that she had got a paid parking ticket on May 16, 2016 but tried to use the same ticket on June 16, 2016, by changing the month to avoid buying a new ticket.
