LAHORE: Investigation Police Mughalpura on Tuesday arrested three accused who looted citizens by posing as officials of the Anti-Corruption Department.

Police also recovered a car with a green number plate, a motorcycle, cash, cellphones, other valuables and illegal weapons from their custody. Police also seized fake office cards from their possession.

The arrested suspects were identified as Haris Butt, Kazim Butt and Shakeel. However, two suspects identified as Ali Hamza and Ali Murtaza managed to flee from the scene. During a press conference at his office, Civil Lines SP Investigations Mehar Mumtaz said the suspects would pose themselves as director, deputy director of anti-corruption department to fleece people. They had established an anti-corruption association office at Punjab Society, anti-narcotics and police peace committee and complaint cell to befool people at Punjab Society.
