Fighting corruption: NAB chairman orders review of public complaints

Tells DGs to follow up on public grievances received every Thursday

National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that he will monitor the progress on public complaints that he and other regional heads receive each Thursday.

He reiterated his firm resolve and said that NAB has virtually rejuvenated to eradicate corruption and directed all DGs of NAB for not sparing any corrupt persons, dragging them in to the dock and depositing the looted money into the national exchequer.

The NAB chairman reviewed progress on all public complaints he and all DGs of NAB at their respective regional bureaus had listened to last Thursday of every month. It was informed that the number of complaints have been increased as compared to the same period of last year from October 11, 2017 to March 09, 2018.

The comparative figures are indicative of the hard work, transparency being put in by all ranks of NAB staff in an atmosphere of renewed energy and dynamism, where fight against corruption is being taken as a national duty. It was further informed that on the directions of NAB chairman, all complaints are being computerised and all DGs of Regional Bureaus are ensuring not only self respect of all the concomitants but also responded promptly to all the complaints of concomitants very expeditiously as per law.

The NAB chairman ordered to expedite efforts of enhancing awareness among people against the menace of corruption.

He said that NAB has recovered over Rs289 billion from the corrupt and deposited in the national exchequer.
