GTA Islamabad: Police identify 97 impounded bikes as stolen property

Two-wheelers were snatched from ICT and various areas of Punjab

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have recovered 97 motorcycles stolen from twin cities of Rawalpindi, Islamabad and various districts of Punjab.

The recovered motorcycles were earlier impounded at various police stations at special checking points during the verification of their documents.

Upon verification from Rescue 15, these motorcycles were found stolen from various areas. Respective police stations have been informed about these recoveries.

SSP Operations Najeebur Rehman Bughvi has directed to hand over the recovered motorcycles to their owners.

According to details, ICT police had verified the record of the motorcycles impounded in various police stations under section 550 CrPC. The record transpired that the motorcycles were stolen from various districts of Punjab including twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to report, 34 motorcycles were stolen from Islamabad, 55 from Rawalpindi, five from Lahore, two from Gujranwala and one motorcycle was found stolen from Sahiwal.

Islamabad police have informed the relevant police stations about the recovery of motorcycles stolen from their jurisdiction.

SSP Islamabad has directed SPs of all zones to hand over the recovered motorcycles to their respective owners after fulfilling the legal requirements.
